Why is property cheap in areas where their is a high population of blacks?

In the DC-Baltimore area property is very expensive with the exception of South East D.C., PG county, and most of Baltimore. Consequently these areas are predominantly black neighborhoods.

Why is property cheap in areas where their is a high population of blacks?
I don't know about you but the properties out there are in the $300K's and up for those areas in the DC Metro Area and those are townhomes. Single family homes are running over $400K!

I don't consider those cheap.

Now why don't you try to stop acting nieve and stupid with your covert racism. Where do you live? Montgomery County? Northern VA? I bet not since you're even looking at home prices in the "black" areas.
Reply:maybe if those blacks stop hagging out the street the whole day, stop drug dealing, home prices would go up ..
Reply:It's not racism, it's true. Just as in the "white trash areas" in the southern part of the city.

As with any other race considered low class.

It's the way they live, dirty. They don't care about where the trash ends up or if their yards are pretty, or if their homes are clean and well kept.

They are too busy complaining about how the government doesn't give them a complete hand out. As if welfare is not enough..

Also, their is alot of crime and drugs so no one but someone like them wants to be there.

I live in Michigan, Detroit is 2 miles away. It's a nasty place, but the white neighborhood's just on the other side of eight mile is nasty too!

This is why I would never buy southern city homes... Trash is trash no matter what color or race, I guess it's the way they like to live..
Reply:I would answer this, but people cannot handle the truth and cry racist even when faced with a truthful and forthright answer. But if you think about your question, the answer is there.
Reply:That is probably due to the pervasive stigma of racism that, unfortunately, still exists. You should note that there are exceptions where government agencies have promoted revitalization efforts. Properties in those areas, still predominately black, have become quite desirable and thus more valuable.
