What is the definition of a law in science?

a) it is a statement or a mathematical equation that is generally true

What is the definition of a law in science?
Its "d" a law is something that has no exceptions. Just like the law of gravity. If you drop a book from your desk it will always fall down.
Reply:A law in science is based on certain hypothesis which are tested on mathematical, and experimental observations. Then a form of universal law is developed, which is supposed to be universally applicable unless proved otherwise by mathematical or experimental results. Here, all the four may be true for a law in science.
