Co-worker troubles?

Hey,

I'm a senior in college %26amp; have worked for a bookstore since it opened in August 2006. So I've been there from the beginning, almost 2 years. I'm married and live in town year round. With the exception of me, my manager doesn't like to hire college students b/c they're always gone during the busiest time of year: Christmas, Thanksgiving, and over the summer.

In October, he hired a girl named... I'll call her Katie. Katie had graduated from college in 2006 %26amp; taught first grade for a year. She had been fired from her teaching job 3 weeks before the school year was over (so I'm assuming she did something pretty awful-- even though she tells everyone a different reason). That not even full year of teaching was the only job she'd ever had. I'm 21 and I've had jobs since I was 16. I trained Katie.

In Dec. 2007, he promoted her to be my supervisor. Keep in mind, I have worked there 2 years and I trained her! He told me it's b/c she's older than me (by 1 year! And that's discrimination

Co-worker troubles?
If you don't need to money, then look for another job. Give your two weeks notice and then LEAVE. You will always run into politics of this sort at every place you work but if you don't have to put up with it, don't.
Reply:You must work where I do. They pull the same **** all the time. Welcome to the wonderful world of working.
Reply:If you dont need the money, find another job where you can be in a different environment. Your never gonna get anywhere working there and if you did would you really want to knowing what you know?
Reply:I see stuff like this happen at my job all the time. Its not right but there is really nothing you can do about it. It seems like some employees can get away with anything and some can't get way with nothing. If you are that unhappy working there I would just quit and find another job.
