I need help with a coworker?

I have my dream job, everything is pretty much perfect with the exception of my c worker who I am to share resposibilies with. he is a total control freak who wont let me do any of the work I spend my day doing something tedious or nothing at all. he was here before me so technically my supervisor. He did teach me everything, then said I would do half the jobs and he would do the other half. well he is now doing it all and I sit here and do nothing. granted I know a lot of you would like a job like that but personally I find it boring. I tried talking to him that didn't work. I did think about going to the head person about it, but there again there is a problem not only will the head person not do anything, but my co worker has this rebel without a cause issue with the company in general, in fact he threatens everyday to quit. my question is should I just hold out til he decides to quit or should I start looking for a job where I can actually do something?

I need help with a coworker?
Well they hired you because they thought you were qualified for the job and you know you are qualified for the job and I agree doing nothing all day is completely boring.

I would talk to your co-worker and try a different approach, something about team work and you want to be part of the projects and though you know he likes to do it himself he has to have faith in you and give you a chance to prove yourself.

If you talk to him and he still continues to cut you out of all the projects then I would begin to look for a job which makes you happy and makes you feel productive during the day. Or start to take over projects, stand your ground... what he is doing isn't right
Reply:If you found your dream job keep it. No matter where you work you will work with people that annoy you. Keep doing your job to the best of your ability. If the coworker is threatening to quit, so be it. Just be responsible for your own work and not the others. For your own good, don't stop working to let the coworker do your job. Whether you realize it or not, all employees are monitored for their performance.
Reply:Hold out until he quits!
Reply:tell him frequently that you've finished up what you were working on, and are ready for the next thing to do. Some people don't have a firm grip on reality and don't even realize they are a control freak. You want to make sure that other people hear you asking him for more work, so that everyone knows that it's not your fault that you aren't doing anything.
