GPA question concerning Advance courses?

My GPA isnt the greatest right now, but i remember hearing that in advanced courses, Cs, Bs, and As are worth one point higher then they would be in a regular course (example: C is 2 points but its 3 if you have that C in an honors class)


Is this true? if so i think my GPA is better then it really i thought since i havent been calculating it with that exception in mind. Final grades are going in on Friday, so i've been checking grades obsessively and it would bring me great ease to know that my GPA is better then i thought.





Am i right?

yep that's true! and ap(college level classes) are worth 2 extra points! so an a which was 4 points will be worth 6
Reply:They might just be graded on a scale 1 point higher; so on a 5.0 instead of a 4.0. I'm not exactly sure though.

cause i know for high school


it varies with each school


for instance at my high school


you get 10 extra points for Advanced classes


and 15 extra points added to your semester grade


for AP classes
