Neg. HPT. still feeling light symptoms, only spotted on 2 day late period. could i be preg? need help?

i know right away most of you are going to say 'retest in a couple of days'. i just need to know the likelyhood for a friend of mine. her symptoms were similar to that of her second pregnancy. she's concerned about pre-ejac. during her fertile time. she's never been late on her period (with an obvious exception of pregnancy) in the past 13 years she's had it. she is highly stressed, but has been in similarly stressful positions before. i don't think she could be b/c if she's feeling symptoms, she would pop positive. the light spotting (light pink) indicates implantation bleeding to me, and in that case she wouldn't have symptoms for another 2 days. it's confusing... this is why i'm asking for your advice. so please don't jump to the regular "OMGeeeeeeee, am i Prege!?!?!?" answers.... this isn't that kind of question. and i've already told her to retest if her period is a no-show by friday. but i'm curious of the liklihood. thanks!

I have had 2 negative HPT and still have all the classic symptoms of pregnancy. I have a dr. appt. tomorrow for blood testing. The thing about the HPT is that it only measures the amount of the pregnancy hormone in your urine. This is different for every woman and different stages of pregnancy and even varies in levels throughout the day. The number one cause of false negatives in HPT's is testing to early. So your friend should take another test and period is still a no show and she is still having pregnancy-like symptoms should go in for a blood test.
